My P4 3.60ghz is @ 2.80ghz why?

i have a kloss system, well all was well next thing you know i looked and say my pc running at 2.80...what program can i use to bump this baby back to 3.60

Speed step..put it under load and it should crank back up to 3.6. You can probably turn speedstep off all together.

isnt speedstep for notebooks? Id check for the bios settings and temperatures. maybe ur having heat problems..

The 6xx series P4's have speedstep. It's for power savings and lower temps when the cpu isnt under full load. Throttling is what happens when they get to hot, throttling doesn't actualy lower the multiplier or change the CPU frequency, throttling cause it to operate at a duty cycle, for example if you have 33% throttling, the CPU will basicly "pause" 1 out of every 3 cycles.
