My p4 2.6C runs at 1.44 Voltage when set at default????!!!!!

I purchased my 2.6C Stepping 9 Revision D1 and I have Abit IS7 motherboard and TurboLink 350Watts power supply.

When I set my computer at default voltage it shows in the motherboard monitoring software (called Hardware Doctor) the CPU Voltage as 1.44Volts and often fluctuates to 1.46 but never more.

In CPU-Z it shows as 1.440 and sometimes jumps to 1.456

In SiSoftware Sandra under Mainboard Information says 1.44 V again.

The question is I thought that the new p4 "C" 800FSB run at 1.48-1.52 Volts. So how come mines runs at such low voltage specifications?

The part that even more mind boggling is that I have it overclocked to to 3.05ghz (234/186) with 5:4 divider and runs with Gaming Accelerator (GAT) enabled at Turbo settings with memory at 2-5-2-2 no problems.

Now here comes the problem, unlike the previous setup where my system shows 0 errors after 5 hours of testing in Prime95, my CPU just doenst like anything over 235FSB it just fails it every time. In fact I tried everything, thinking that my Geil Ultra Platinum 433 mhz ram is on the weak side (yeah i know I should have bought Corsair), but my Ram runs at 2-6-3-3 at 2.7V at 216:216 (1:1) ratio as advertised so I know its not the Ram.

Am I one of those few unlucky people who got stuck with a CPU thats highly against overclocking???? (unlike other 2.4C, 2.6C and 2.8Cs) Is my motherboard responsible for such low voltage or is my power supply the problem in that it is unable to send consistent voltage to the CPU because in the BIOS when i set 1.525V it reads as 1.48, 1.550 as 1.49, and 1.575 as 1.55, 1.600 as 1.57 always underperforming then what i set in teh BIOS

PLease offer me your advice. Any suggestions as to how I can overcome this overclocking hurdle since I know my Ram can handle it and my mobo is one of the best overclockers around

Thanx

My BIOS is 1.3 they just released 1.4 but in that version the updates fix minor problems and I doubt upgrading to that BIOS will solve this

Still its possible.

ummm, the lower the stock voltage the better the odds of getting a high OC. you got a good chip

So you think that a 3% fluctuation in voltage readings couldn't possibly be the hardware/software reading it?
