My P3550E will no longer do 733 stable, what should I do?

I tried uping the voltage to 1.75. Is that too high? Anyhow, it did not work. I'm using a gorb. Should I try a different cooler?

has the thermal paste dried up?
suggest you reapply & see if that does the trick!

Im going through the exact same thing with my 550e as well. Ive got the voltage at 1.8 using a slot one alpha...formerly 733, 677 and falling :( Re-applied paste, reset the chip in the mobo, bought new ram. Nothing. Multiwave has a nice cheap Duron package heading my way.

could try lapping your Gorb
my temps dropped 4c after I lapped it, (even though it took for ever to get done)

or if you are really ballsy, lapping your 550e

I've been running my 550E at 871MHz, 1.65V for almost 1 year . :D

Check the contact and reapply thermal grease if needed.

Update: Bought a Cusl2-c, took the p3550 out of p3v4x and I'm running at 733 (1.6v)again without a hitch. I really like this cusl2-c so far. :D
