Well, about 5-6 weeks(or more, i'm dumb) ago I posted my problem on my p3 700e not working. I was using a BX6R2 and was trying to find out why I was having blue screens all over the place. With suggenstions from some people, I switched slockets trying to see if that was the problem, but after using an Open, MSI and Abit slocket, the problem was still there. I of course tried removing all hardware and putting them back in one by one, blue screens galore still.
I came to the conclusion that maybe my CPU was faulty. I talked to intel and they sent me a replacement right away(3 weeks after all the shipping back and forth..
). I popped that baby in.. BUT.. BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!
!@#$*@%!!! I almost died. I figured the only thing left that could be faulty was my mobo. I scraped together all the spare change I could find and ordered myself a CUSL2. It came on Wednesday. I also ordered a Gorb and wanted to wait until it arrived(Friday) before doing the full install. Last night at approximately 7pm, I did all my backups and proceeded with the task.
Pulled everything out, put everything back in and prayed. Win ME loaded. *BAM* BLUE SCREEN! WTF?!?!?!?! OK.. calm down. Maybe it's the dreaded SB Live and CUmine SB16 prob. Popped the sb live out and reboot. Everything's fine. Shutdown, put in the SB Live again and reinstalled drivers. Everything's still fine. Shutdown, went into w2k, everything still fine. Everything's still fine 14 hours later. *sniff* Brings a tear of joy to my eye. Thanks everyone for your advice. So ends another heart-attack inducing upgrade.
