According to pricewatch, the cheapest p2 333 out there is $102. I have 2 of theese in a dual motherboard. The P3 450 is a dollar cheaper at $101

WTF??

I would love to get 2 P3-450's for my 2 P2-333's but i guess that just dreaming

The 333 only has a 66 Mhz buss and can be overclocked somewhat. Maybe that's why it's so expensive.

Oops, I just noticed that you are comparing a PII 333 to a PIII450. I thought you were comparing PII to PII. My mistake.
There really isn't any good reason for that. Slot 1 CPU's are all way too expensive. You can get a Duron for under $50!

It's the final 66mhz bus P2, makes a good replacement chip for broken OEM machines.

High demand, 0 new production=higher price

Everything from the katmai down to the p2-233 has an odly inflated price.
People ask and get ~$80 for p2-400's on the FS/T regularly

I think you're dreaming. Buying old parts from a dealer is always expensive. I don't see anyone trading a PIII for what you have.

the p2-333 happens to be a very overpriced chip (as is the p2-450). i suppose there are not that many of them around. the p2 300 and p2-350 are around $55 and the p2-400 is around $75. they are all overpriced imho but the p2-333 and p2-450 are especially priced high.
