Hey all,
First of all, thanks to everyone on these forums who helped me build my machine a year and a half ago. It's been a while, but I've got two new questions for the learned.
My VC is a Sapphire-Radeon 9600XT 126mb, AGP, etc. I've been getting the "your adapter has stopped responding" message from Catalyst, as well as a lot of freezing and hanging while gaming for the past month or two, and I recently discovered that the little onboard fan has died. Which means that this card has been running VERY hot for a while now (100C, according to the VPU overdrive thing). So...
1) What sort of heat-sink/fan combo should I get for it to solve this problem AND
2) Since I've been running it hot for a while, do I want to put another 30-50 bucks into this card that might be just about fried? Is it maybe time to upgrade? For the purposes of playing Civ IV, CoD2, etc., what would I upgrade it to?
I recently moved the cables around inside my case and dropped the CPU and system temps almost 20 degrees, so this is my last heat issue. Thanks again,
Jason
