My system seems to run great but sometimes I get weird things after it has been on for a while. I was surfing the internet and then talking to a friend after being on for about 1.5 hours when the type starting doing weird things like letters sticking. It was just making errors. The funny thing is that earlier I was playing gpl and it got up to 42C. I just checked and when this problem happened it was at 40c. I have seen this before. I currently have the voltage at 1.8v. What could be the problem and the solution. thanks

Actually, I would suggest using a standard FSB speed. If the problem is CPU stability, that would usually result in a lockup instead of what seem like I/O errors. Try running it at 850MHz. Its only 10MHz slower, and it'll probaby run just as good if not better.

there is probably no need to up the voltage any more, 1.8 is more than enough to run a duron at 850. actually, my duron 600 runs at 850 with 1.6. what are your fsb/multiplier settings??

my duron600 runs @1.5v default, 800@1.85v, 900 @1.94v.
some cpu do need more to run stable.

I am running it at 8.5x100 I can not get the computer to boot at 9x100 it locks in windows with the curser in the center of the blue screen. The funny thing is my cpu does not really like to go over 45c. It seems that many people have ones running much hotter.

I'll bet that your thermal sensor on the bottom of the cpu socket is not touching the bottom of the cpu.

Hmmmm........ that is a good point. Have you heard of people having to bend it up so that to make sure it touches the cpu? Also am I in danger of frying my cpu? It is working fine now at 850. Thanks
