My Outlook Express 6 with Win XP takes 45 seconds to load?!?!?

I'm not sure when it started happening but all of a sudden, it takes almost a minute for outlook to open after the splash screen...WTF?
I thought maybe it was because i installed norton antivirus, but even after diabling it, it takes just as long....
any ideas?

i had the exact same problem. i couldnt find a fix right away so i just started using outlook.

outlook is different from outlook express?

Did you remove MSN messenger? If so, then that is the reason. Just reinstall in and watch OE6 respond better.

See if Protected Storage Service is disabled.

I reinstalled MSN explorer and boom everything loads faster...those sneaky SOBs!

Don't know if that is the case in your situation, but if i have more than 200 mails in my Inbox, it slows everything down tremendously. Clearing the Inbox solved the problem for me. Also, unchecking Tools >> Options >> Automatically Log On To Windows Messenger helps too.
