Well, it's all up and running. Only 1 lockup, during GameSpy, but other than that it runs.

I hate it.

Is gives GREAT benchmarks, fast as heyl, but running day to day software sucks. It's slow on drop down menus in IE, Word, Fireworks, Dreamweaver. I just don't get it. My PIII 800e was so much smoother. I could have just gotten a new MOBO for it and been happy. Am I doing something wrong? Doubt it, cause the benchmarks are GREAT! But .......... day to day .......... errrrrrrrrrrrrr

what were all of your old system specs?

and are you SURE you have a K7T Pro2a? isn't that the one with 133mhz fsb official support (and real ability to hit it)?

Is there something wrong with this pair? because I'm getting this pari tomorrow and don't want my dad to find out that it's going to freeze on him, thats why we're buying a new comp, because his Penitum keeps on freezing.

Are you running Win98/ME or 2000? If you're running 2000, make sure you download the Soltek UDMA/100 drivers. I've built 2 systems off of that motherboard so far, and I had to install the drivers on both, otherwise you run in PIO mode (need I say more..)

I ditched my K7T Pro2-A and ordered the Abit KT7-RAID because of that problem, I'll be getting it Monday/Tuesday.

Soccerman, you are thinking of the K7T Pro Turbo which is based on the KT133A chipset (real 133MHz FSB support).

undercover, what are the rest of your system specs? Did you do a fresh install of your OS after you swapped CPU&mobo?

undercover, there is something not right about how you did your system. It sounds like some sort of driver issue. Do you care to go about what you did with your system? Step by step if you can please. Cause there is no reason it should be pausing unless you did something wrong.

Built two systems so far with that combo. Zero problems. Make sure you install the very latest VIA 4-in-1 patch from VIA's official web site, flash to the latest BIOS revision (if you're brave, Microstar has a beta bios for the Pro2a that enables more memory tweaks), and take a trip to Windows Update. Of course, if you haven't done a fresh install of Windows, that's the culprit.

At least your great benchmark scores indicate a working system.

I think this post is not real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and if it is, it is the users fault not the hardware.......
