My older dlp is slowly dying- looking for new

slag

Lifer
I replaced the caps a couple years ago, but now age is taking its toll and I'm starting to see some small lines on the hdmi. I suppose I could take it apart again and try to fix it, but I think I'm ready to get a new tv in the next month or so. Its still watchable and my kids don't notice, but I do...

I currently have a 62 inch dlp. I really like the look of the 73738 or 73640 mitsubishi dlps, but really, the 82738 isn't too much more and I could get it and a 3 yr square trade for around $2k total off Amazon.com

Are there any LCDs in the 65 inch size that are a good buy for around $2k?

It looks like you may be able to find a 65" Plasma in the $2-$3k range...but I'd go for the size since you have the space for it.

If you have the room and the room for it, the DLP will provide a much more involving experience.

The 82" screen is huge compared to 65". But the room will need to be darker and reflections kept to a minimum and the viewing angle on DLP is not great.

I've decided to find an 82 for around $1500.00. Found one in KC but it has a few issues so I'm still looking.
