Ok my old computer doesn't want to load GTA III or GTA vice city. In both cases I execute the game form windows and Nothing happens. I have tries reinstalling windows , reinstalling the games, trying with other CD's, and the game still don't load. I think those are the video drivers, but i don't know.

This is my old computer:

Athlon XP 2400+
MSI KT6V
256MB PC2700
Albatron Geforce 4Ti 4200 128MB
Creative SBLive! 5.1
Video drivers: ForceWare 61.77, I also have tried with ForceWare 56.72 and nothing.
DX 9b.

All the rest of the games runs perfectly: WE7, Call of Duty, NFSU, Return to castle,UT2004,Blood Rayne, ect... But the GTA's can't even load.

I think i had gta3 running under patch 1.1 so make sure u have that. Also, update your drivers, or revert them to older drivers. Maybe theres even a more current patch for the game. Also try your dx version. update that as well.

Be sure to run drivercleaner before installling new drivers.

What does "doesn't load" mean? What does it do?

Also, this belongs in the software forum, not here.

I think I know whats happening. The last time you ran those games you were using a higher resolution then your current monitor can handle.

Look for the config file that has all the user settings in them, and delete it. This way it will default to 640x480 and you can make your adjustments.

Yes that's right. I was using a 17" Dell monitor, I was running the game at 1280x1024, now I am Using a 15" Daewoo monitor with a max resolution of 1024x768.
Thanks.
