Oh man, we got a tough guy over here. English? I'm the one here speaking in complete sentences...

Please direct me to the entry in the dictionary where 'Pun3d' is defined.

[*]ArJuN could have made $100+ doing an easy task, but instead he is posting on ATOT making no money at all. It looks like ArJuN is the only one unhappy here. Therefore, Geek Squad Pun3d ArJuN.

Check and mate.

 I have my A+ cert and I work part time at Staples to make ends meet and they made me a "store technician" and advertise that Staples has certified technicians to work on your computer. We only charge 29.99 for memory install ;) . That being said of course I work on computer on the side.

Edit: The point being the prices charged for fixing or upgrading computers is outrageous and if the customer has borked their system with 400 spyware and malware programs they blame you for not being able to fix it short of a reinstall :( .

And yes I know the A+ cert is worthless in I.T. but I did it more as a hobby and get some odd jobs as I get my degree in Educational Psychology.

Hey, clicking that link brought me back to this thread, so when I got to your post I clicked the link again. I did this over and over until my computer crashed, is there a virus in that link? :|

It's a new strain of virus that I just developed. It is very intelligent and selective. It only affects those with an IQ under 75.

great thread. i love it when people post crap like this.

"hahaha that guy is a idiot because he does not know how to work on a computer! hahahha" sheesh. grow up. why should they know how to do it? There is a reason why i take my car into a mechanic and go to a doctor when i am sick.

while they are paying a lot to get something done they must agree with the price because they are paying it.

Good choice in releasing it in ATOT, then.

Geek squad sucks. To install RAM they want 99.99 in my neck of the woods.

Meanwhile, two other shops in town do it for..... wait for it..... FREE!!!

Geek squad prays on customers who dont shop around. Because if they DID, they'd find everybody else is half the price or lower. GS is good at finding the suckers... I'll give 'em that. But I won't say they're ethical.

it is a business. a business main job is to make money. they set a price and if people are either to stupid or lazy to search for a cheaper place then that is the buyers fault. this is not un-ethical.

is one mechanic more ethical because he charges less? no. price should not matter. nobody is forced to use them.

unpossible. if there is one thing i've learned is that few people learn from their mistakes, hence the reason history tends to repeat its self.

You make it sound like they barged into the house and forced the guy to let them fix his computer.

actually it has worked for me. I have been the tech guy for my in-laws for about 15 years. I never charged them anything.

well about 8-12 months ago they asked me fix the computer. i took it home and ran a virus check on it. started it at about 6pm. When i went to bed at 10pm it had over 300 virus found. in the morning it was still running and it had 450 found.

my in-laws called and i told them i had been working on it for over 5 hours (did not count the time i spent sleeping) and told asked them for $50 for my time since it was going to take a while.

they said no. so i said take it to geek squad because i am not spending anymore time on it. They spent over $300 to get it fixed. Now when they want something done on it they have no trouble paying me $25-50 or whatever.

Uhhhh . . . you just pointed out that you asked a completely useless question, and then wasted this second post of yours pointing this out, the short bus self-ownage of which you seem to entirely unable to grasp!
