My normal desktop refresh rate is 85Hz. While playing games, it's only 75Hz. Need some help.

For Direct3D game: Run dxdiag from the run command box. and click the last tab - override default value to 85.

For OpenGL games, I don't find any other way than changing the game's settings file.
 
I suspect your Desktop resolution/colour depth is different from your Gaming Resolution/Colour Depth.

I think this is how you could save it.
Switch your Desktop resolution/colour depth to the GAMES resolution/CD
then change the refresh of THAT. (do u know how?)

Switch back to original resolution/colour depth and start your game.
