Ok, well ill start this off with a little story.

So we have this tradition down here at UF called ponding. Basically, the night before your birthday your supposed to get thrown into a pond on campus by your friends to celebrate. However, since theirs so many alligators around here, the tradition has melded into just surprizing the person with super soakers, buckets, and ANYTHING to get the person drenched. Well my time was last night and stupid me took everything out my pockets except my Nokia 8290. After about 10-15 minutes of pure DRENCHING from every angle (like a human car wash) i went to go change, this is when i realized i had my phone... So anyway, my phone was now off (it was on before the ponding started) and i thought it was totally dead now. I took off the cover and the battery and water ran out, water under the keypad, water under the faceplate.... It was everywhere!! My phone was drenched. So anyway, i let the thing out in a few pieces on the counter tonight to dry and when i woke up, put it all togeather and it WORKS FINE!!! I am fricken amazed, i cant tell you how wet that thing was. Needless to say im very impressed... :D

When I was on the crew team at UW-Madison the tradition was to be thrown in the lake naked on your birthday, regardless of the time of year. Needless to say that people who had b-days during the winter months didn't look forward it.

I'm not sure which is worse though, be thrown in icy cold water or snow covered ice. Since my birthday was in November, I asways got the icy water.

:)

EDIT: I should note that the women's team co-habitated the boathouse with us, so when you were carried outside it was a grand parade for everybody
