my Nokia just got Android 10.

Aside from a UI with a slightly different feel there's no difference. Its sure not any easier or sleeker.
Do we really need new operating systems at this point?

There were a few nice features to vanilla Android in 10. But many of those features were already available from third parties like dark mode and gesture navigation. Fortunately a lot of the updates now roll out regularly through Google Play Services instead of us having to wait for an OS update that may never happen.
