ok,
the Nikon L11 is offered at some places for as low as $90 and first i was sceptical since this is an incredible low price and i had doubts that a cam that cheap could deliver.
I had a PowerShot S230 before, just as a sidenote and for comparison.
The Nikon L11 is incredible easy to use - BASICALLY it has three modes, that is fully automatic mode, "scene" mode and movies.
Movies can be as high as 640x480@30FPS which is great since my old Powershot did only 320x240@15fps...and 15fps is awful !
The Image Quality of the Nikon is GREAT in my opinion - i did some casual shooting on Auto and i am amazed about the crispness and qualtiy of the images taken.
Firstz i had the impression that the pics are a LITTLE lacking in terms of colors, so i now set it to the "vivid color" option and i dont have ANY reason to complain about picture quality !
With my old camera it was always like...you see a good motive in real life and yu shoot it...but for some bizarre reason the "mood" of the scene just wouldnt deliver 100% into the picture.
With the Nikon i shoot scenes and i am amazed how they look on screen, and this with a barely $100 camera !
The "scene modus" is a modus where there are several presets like "portrait", "night portrait", "fireworks", "dusk/dawn", "landscape" etc...
The LCD is BIG, but its very difficult to see anything if you're out in sunlight on the LCD.
The Movie Mode generates Quicktime movies in good quality.
I got me a 2GB SD card and i will try the movie-mode more in the next time.
PRO:
- CHEAP
- GOOD IMAGE QUALITY
- SIMPLE TO WORK, even a monkey should be able to figure that cam out
- BIG LCD
- VGA movies w/ sound and 30fps
- uses AA batteries !
- stylish, appealing design
BAD:
- Some background humming noise on the videos taken
- In sunlight the LCD is almost worthless
- lacks of many manual options
SUMMARY: For the casual shooter who wants a good cam for vacation etc. pictures i highly recommend this camera. Its not a profi-camera, for sure, but it does a great job for anything you want to shoot, is simple to work with and the pictures look awesome

with some personal photos.....note that i resize all my pics since i dont have any use for monster-resolutions.
