As many of you may know, I have picked up bar b queing as a hobby. I have a Brinkman Pit Smoker with the side mounted firebox, but I feel like I just don't get a good even heat throughout the smoke chamber.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.........................................

Being the adventerous type, and being pretty handy with tools, I thought I just might give this bad boy a try. Homemade smoker.

Any of you Atlanta geeks want to come over and help me out when I get the parts together? I can promise once it is built, seasoned, and up to proper temp we will put it to proper use. Beer and bar b que. Whose game?

Because you live so far away for me, there is no reason for me to befriend you. However, I am jealous. Tritip is on my BBQ at the moment... and it's raining here in Cali!

i want a double barrel bbq too. i had a buddy i used to work with who had one, he bought his, he felt that its was probably a better idea to buy than to build

Well, anyone who is up for a road trip, I do have a spare bed, couch, floor space, dsl, and maybe we can even get a LAN party going while we tend to the fire. 😀

The only problem with that is that you would have to be feeding the whole neighborhood just to bother using it, lol.

BIG BBQ fan. Probably one of my main hobbies. This unit looks cool but i don't really know if you will get that much better results than a tried and true WSM (weber smoker). You will definitly get more cooking area if you need that though. WSM is really all i need. I can cook a huge amount of meat for a get together of less than 10 people. I guess if your going have more people than that maybe you need this unit. I smoke everything in mine BBQ ribs, brisket (my favorite), pork shoulder (butt), chicken, side dishes, peppers, homemade sausage. I wonder how constant the temperature of this unit will be? I can start my wsm at night...go to bed ant its in the 220-230 in a am which is great for brisket. Thats the thing i like about the wsm units. If i needed to cook more meat i might just buy another wsm unit. Some day when i get enough money i might get a klose unit but until then it will be wsm all the way baby.

btw: luck my in atlanta. That is my dream area to live. Someday 🙂.
