Just got my replacement Z560's back and they sound weird. The music is loud but the voice/singing is low. The music overpowers the singing/voice. Also my volume nob tightens up after turning it half way and then loosens back up a little past half way. Is this something Logitech did to keep ppl from accidently turning the nob all the way and blowing their speakers?

Anyone have any ideas? I have the Philps:AE sound card.

Tried adjusting equalizer or something similar settings? Knob sounds like one of those that clicks when your centered. Usually used for balance or fader knobs.

I don't think its my eq. I am using the same old eq settings. Does anyone else have a volume nob that tightens up half way then loosens past half way? My older system wasnt like this. But my older sub didnt have a main power cut off switch on it either. They have def been messing with it thats for sure.

How old were your original z560s? They have had main power cutoff switches since a loooong time ago. Have you doublechecked to make sure all settings are the same in equalizers and in volume control and also on the speakers too?

My volume in Winamp is max, the volume in WinXP is 75% and only eq I am using is the one for Winamp. My old speakers was at least 2 years old or so. It does not have the main power switch on the back and the volume nob was nice and smooth when turning all the way up(even though I never listend to it but about half way).

The new ones tightens up about half way. I was thinking maybe they did it for protection. I don't know.

Possibility, although reading from reviews these speakers would handle the load, just whether the listerner's ears would are another question :)

My old ones would have popped no dought had I turned them all the way up. Over halfway on them brought some distortion. Is anyone elses volume control the same as mine? I am guessing its nothing wrong with the nob(warped)? Seems warped to me though.

If you're not sure try going to a best buy and testing it out to see if it's any different from yours.
