My new WHS build

Wanted to see what everyone thought of my new WHS build.

GIGABYTE GA-MA74GM-S2 AM2+/AM2 AMD 740G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon X2 4850e 2.5GHz Socket AM2 45W Dual-Core Processor
Kingston 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory
Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EADS 1TB SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

I already have an Antec EarthWatts PSU and case for this build.

Opinions? Comments?

What do you think about the AMD4850e vs. the AMD 5050e? Is it just 2.5Ghz vs. 2.6Ghz? It's a $1.00 price difference on newwegg...

My friend is using a MSI Wind (single core for $139) with a 640GB WD & 2 GB of ram, and it's working great for WHS. System was around $400 total including DVD Burner and WHS software.

People have been able to undervolt the 4850e to essentially match the power consumption of Atom systems, but I guess it would be hard to get a Case/PSU + 4850e + mobo for less than $150. I guess the only drawback of the MSI Wind is that it that it has just one HD slot.

Since the OP has a case and PSU already, he could go with an Atom cpu/mobo like this for $80:

The only drawback here is the 2x SATA ports. There are more expensive Atom boards, but when you start getting up to the $125 level, you might as well get the *MUCH* more capable AMD setup just in case you might need it.

In general it really does not matter.

However nunmber of SATA ports is usually the deciding factor.

If a board has only two SATA and twp 1TB drives are enough storage, then the Intel ATOM is pefect.

Otherwise find an inexpensive low power board that have more SATA

It looks good to me. I'd probably add a second drive for the duplication feature.
