This thing is a beast...If it didn't show it fits in the stock retnetion clip I would swear it didn't fit....

I am going with manual control setup with the dial I will place in the 5-1/4 bay.....It has a straight full blow method, temperature controled mode, or manual....

The fan is a very deep 80mm fan....

The thing is the heavier then my old alpha or my swiftech. I hope this retention clip is sturdy....

2628mhz (292x9) at 10 hours of Prime95

Edit: that is my stock opteron cooler (actually Mark's)...I hope to improve on those numbers and get it into the high 40's....

Then I will crack into the northbridge chipset which is a POS hsf combo if you ask me...I am sure it is dying for a decent appliaction of thermal paste

Got that thing on there yet? I'm not impressed with my Thermaltake Tower112 thus far and thinking about getting something else. Know anything about it? Thanks.

I have been using the Venus12 nearly a year now and it is a great price/performer. It fits very snuggly so you will not be breaking T.I.M. lock by twisting should it occur. Use the proper amount of a silver based compound and that won't be an issue. here is what it looks like installed big, beefy, takes seconds to mount, and does not have clearance issues.

So far not impressed....fan blowing per dersign and I have higher temps at idle and load then stock all ALU hsf....

I flipped it to suck and pull air away froim fan and I get 2-3c cooler at idle but maybe only 1-2c at load...IThat is running at near same 3300 rpm...any faster besides the noise gains nothing.....The fan has a huge dead zone and the fan guard on the hsf has too small of an opening based on where the air is tleaving the fan...It basically blocks it...

Is there a new revision coming in jan next year ? the "second wave". I might hold out till then and get one and overclock. I was thinking of getting the 3000 and following Duive, but i'll wait. See if the new ones have more headroom.

What a banshee. You really ought to got thermalright XP-90 paired w 92mm panaflo. The blade design combined with bore size makes this a very innefcient cooler, not much better than Stock HSF.

The kiddies like the pretty colors and phat fan though.

I never liked thermaltake. Using hyped words like "Highest Performance Copper CPU Cooler" and "silent boost" in thier advertising while thier HSFs continually rank near the bottom in scientific testing.

I love the Zalman....

Another excellent choice if you mean CNPS7000-Cu
