My new tv should be here wednesday...

So as some of you know I ordered my Olevia 37" LCD the other day and it should be here wednesday. I'm getting high def verizon fiber optic tv hooked up monday! This will be my first time having HD on a tv, Im so freaking excited!

I was reading a lot of reviews and noticed a lot of people were using their tv's as PC monitors as well, and to my surprise a lot of people said it was decent quality. Anyone here have any experience with that? Is it good enough quality as to where I would really consider gaming on my 37" tv rather than my nice sony 17" monitor? Is it good enough quality to the point where I would actually want to browse the web on the tv and not have a huge quality loss in text and that? Its only a VGA hookup on a tv, but I hear it looks just as good as a DVI. *shrugs*

$999, 51 dollars shipping. Also got no interesting/payments till march of next year.

Nice price but free shipping would have been sweeter.

Is it 720p or 1080p?

Where did you order it from?

Link to tv.

Got it from newegg. Free shipping woulda been nice, but so is the no interest so I figured I'd go with that instead of waiting around for free shipping.

Its 720P, 1080i.

Any idea how thats going to do as a monitor for a PC?

I have the 32" olevia with DVI

I havent hooked it up to my computer because I have a Dell 2005fpw at 1680x1050

Playing games or using it as an HTPC will be fine but otherwise 😕

text and that probably won't look all that clear will it?

It'll be clear, just very big.

Nothing wrong with that 🙂

Nah I'll probably only use it for playing games and maybe watching some videos on it.

Non-high def channels don't look good on any tv though, right?

the only thing I wish the olevia would do automatically is adjust the picture to 4:3 for non HD channels. Im to lazy to goto the setup menu when I switch to non HD channels so im watching non HD channels stretched out.
