My New Toshiba Big Screen is Hosed :(

Service guy came around this morning, looked @ my 2 week old TV & asked what the problem was, that it looked pretty good...

Threw a test pattern from a home theater tweaks DVD on the screen & showed him a 3" geometry problem, guy took it apart & found that the particle board one of the CRT's was attached to was broken & that it couldn't be fixed...

Have heard there'll be a big change in HDTV sets, I'm tempted to stretch out the return till the next generation comes out with DVI & or Firewire inputs show up, it's still viewable, just irritating.

Any of you-all videophiles & have any insight into the upcoming changes & when they'll start to appear?

Not really that interested in the new stuff, just want a price drop in current HDTV stuff for the swap...
