My new T-Bird Underclocking....

I wanted to run my new 200mhz FSB 1.2GHZ T-Bird at 9x133, what all do I need to do in order to get it at that speed. I have a K7T Turbo Mobo and a Taisol fan, I've heard mention of having to connect the L6 bridges or something, but i'm not sure in what to do. Thanks.

Hey bro,
I will give you hand, since No one else seems to be polite enough to help you out. You will need to connect the "L1" bridges together, not the "L6" bridges, in order to unlock your CPU properly. Any good #2 pencil will work fine. Anandtech has a nice detailed article if you are unsure on how to do this. Once that is done, boot the computer, and set your multiplier down from 12 to 9 before you change your bus speed to 133, or there is a 99% chance your computer will not boot, since 12x133 is almost 1600mhz! Once the multiplier has been set down, save and reboot, and then bring ur bus speed up to 133, and you should have a nice 1200mhz t-bird again! You should actually be able to o/c to @least 1.3ghz or higher if you wanted. I have a retail 1Ghz bird@ 1.34Ghz air cooled, you can check it out here. Goodluck, and I hope this helps you out.

Josh
