If that's your system you're probably the first to run win 98 with that much ram...

You can never have too much RAM. Even if you have extra, there's gonna be a time you'll be glad you have it sooner or later. The more RAM you have, the more you ensure that you'll be prepared for the even more bloated programs of tomorrow :)

My 256mb Crucial stick should be here tomorrow. Then I'll have 512mb! :D
Nice Rig, btw. What's the 3dmark 2000 score like?
As others said, You should be running Windows 2000 on that system..

HMMMMMFFFFFPPPPPPP

I am going to GHOST my current config and then install 2000. I have had too many problems with the install... I think I got it fixed now though. Anyone have a recommendation on how to dual boot both?

I think It gives you an option of "dual boot" when you install Windows 2000..
Just make sure to install it on a separate partition.
Even if it doesn't give you the option during the installation, After you're done installing..Both OS's should show up at the menu in startup, where you select which OS to boot.

How to dual boot both? Just install 98se. The stick in the W2k CD and hit install when the box pops up. Then during pre-install config make sure to select the option to "select drive and partition" during installation so that you can stick 2k on another drive/partition.(You do have another drive/partition don't you, if not, make one :) ) Then you'll reboot and it'll boot into 2k installation, select your 2nd partition and install. It's that easy.

Damn I have 384 megs of RAM and I thought it was a waste...

I need Win2K bad so that the other half of the RAM is actually being used :D

I don't have another partition because my Drives are in raid. Would it affect raid striping if I created another partition?

Millenium, nope, you should be fine if you partition it. It's 1 drive in the eyes of your system, but 2 in the eyes of your RAID interface :)

most (not all) programs can run from the win98se partition just hit their exe. however you might have to reinstall most of them for better performance.
