Get a USB key instead :)

11 dollars for the floppy disk drive. No biggie, might need it to install device drivers.

Floppies have no use that I can find anymore. Any driver that fits on a floppy is available on the intarweb after a 2 second dl.

I would change the CPU for a 3000+ since the 3200 and 3000 run at the same Mhz.

And get the Chaintech ZNF3-250 nForce3 board. Newwer chipset with the HT speeds and locks fixed.

ordered already...
if 3200 and 3000 runs at the same mhz, then what's the different between its number?

3200 has 1mb L2 cache , 3000 has 512kb of L2 cache

3200 uses the clawhammer core, 3000 uses the newcastle core

3000 was a clawhammer with half its L2 cache turned off. Hence the reason for the SAME wafer size and number of Transisiotrs.

The NEW 3000+ MIGHT be a newcastle, depending when it was made. I think if it is a CG version then yes it is, but the CO? version is the older one, like my 3000+

newegg is selling the 3000 newcastle core version FYI. (which is where OP bought his stuff from)

They go through their stock fast so getting something from newegg USUALLY menas you are getting the newwest ones.

That and the CG (newcastle) chip overclocks better and also have the updated mem controller.

Has anybody seen if there is a GREAT diff. between the OLDER 3000 and the newwer CG (newcastle)
3000 chip?

Bios updates, password recovery, etc. Floppies still have some use, and they are cheaper than thumb drives.

Except for the network card drivers that require you to connect to the internet through your network card to download them. Seems like a waste to burn a cd for that to me.

You bought the right processor, you want the most L2 cache, anyone who says different is ignant. Also you can overclock it 200mghz without any problems.
