My NEW System/Rig I APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT !

Hi all,
I am looking to build a new system. However, I would like your input on what I should include or change in my current config. I have gone off an Anandtech Guide page for an intel-based system. I also pasted below what I am thinking so far. Please recommend any changes I should put and why. Thanks for your consideration!

I'm too lazy right now to look at the case specs, but I think I read on the Coolermaster web site that one of their cheaper models didn't have HD Audio for the front panel.
My Coolermaster Centurion 5 does have it however. I'd go to the web site and take a look if I were you.

If you feel comfortable with Transcend RAM, go for it. Me, I prefer RAM from companies that have an OFFICIAL support forum where you can ask questions like OCZ or Corsair. I couldn't find one for Kingston so I'm not sure I'd bother with them again.

The P5N-E SLI is picky about RAM though (However, supposedly the latest BIOS, 608, fixes this somewhat). Make sure that Trascend RAM works with that mobo.

I use Kingston Hyper X with it and it works great, though G.SKill is popular in this board and many people use this and have no compatibility problems with the mobo. Plus it's only $105 🙂

anyone else get pissed off when you order 5 things from newegg and you get 4 seperate packages all coming from different locations?

Anyone else get pissed off when some chump asks for your recommendations and critique for his build and he won't even include the item descriptions beside the links?

Pro tip: It needs to look like this
ITEM - ITEM MANUFACTURER - MODEL - PRICE - LINK TO NEWEGG

CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 $blah <link>

I'm just not going to click each induvidual link for those components and a lot of other people aren't going to bother either.

Good points I edited the post so that it is more straightforward and simple.

Also, thanks for the feedback on the hardware! I love to hear about compatibility issues!

Thanks for putting the parts list in the post. Here are my two thoughts.

1: If you're not going to do SLI, then don't get an nVidia based motherboard. For about $10 more, spring for a Gigabyte P-35 based DS3R. P-35 boards tend to be simpler to work with and overclock.

2: If you're getting 4 gigs of RAM, then you must get a 64-bit OS to use it all. I recommend Vista x64, as Vista has come a long way in the last six months (as have Vista drivers,) and Vista's 64-bit codebase has always been more mature (and far more supported by third parties) than the XP 64 codebase (and besides, there is no XP Media Center 64.)

Good luck,

Mark.

I wouldn't even purchase my CPU until the fourth week of July, when the price drops kick in.

Heatsink: Get the Ultra 120 Extreme from Jab-Tech; order a Yate-Loon D12SL 120mm fan with it. Should be about $68 shipped.

Mobo: Get the Gigabyte DS3R from Newegg; $130.

RAM: Kingston 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 800 from Frys.com; $70 shipped each, or $140 for 4GB.

GPU: EVGA 8800GTS 320MB at Newegg for $260 AR.

Display: Acer 24" Widescreen LCD at MacMall.com for $440 shipped.

PSU: Corsair 520HX from Buy.com for $89.99 AR (or $79.99 AR if you use Google Checkout to pay, which is really easy to do).
