Hey Everyone,
I was just wondering what you guys think of this Rig I finally decided on. I am hoping to do some decent overclocking so I think I should be able to do it with this:

Motherboard: Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2100+ OEM AIUHB 0301
Ram: Kingston Hyper X PC3000 512 mb chip
Hard Drive: Maxtor 80 Gig 7200 RPM 8MB Ata/133
Power Supply: Antec True Power 330W
Heat Sink: SLK-800 (U)
Heatsink Fan: YS-Tech Adjustable
Arctic Silver and Round Ata Cables

What do you guys think of all of that combined? Also, what do you think I can expect out of the XP2100 AIUHB 0301 stepping??? I am looking to do some overclocking so let me know your opinions. Maybe even some settings to start overclocking as this is going to be my first time !!!!!(FSB,Multipliers,Vcore,Memory Settings, etc)

Thanks for all the help from everyone to get this rig together. Everything will arrive by Tuesday so then the fun begins. I will let you all know how things turn out with this chip too.
Later

I would have gotten the 2500+ Barton, cuz it makes more use of ur RAM, and would be a lot better over the 2100+ without forking out a lot of extra cash...

I still haven't chosen a video card. Don't want to spend more than $75 bucks. Have any suggestions? GeForce? Ati? let me know
thanks guys

you need to spend more to do your system justice.
i'd get at least a Radeon 9500 Pro.
but for $75, probably a Radeon 8500LE or something along those lines.

Looks nice. hope you have better luck with your 0301 AIUHB than i had with mine. Mine doesn't like to do more than 2.1 gig and i have to boost the volts pretty good to get that.

:( I have the same chip but I have had much better luck with mine than you have. I have successfully ran the chip at 2.4GHz but not for long (I was terrified it would die on me!!!).

sianof, I almost wish you had waited just a few more weeks so you could have gotten an nForce2 Ultra 400 board. I'm thinking of getting one of those for myself as soon as Abit or Epox release one.

Other than that, I like the specs you presented. I might have gone for 2x 512MB of the HyperX (as I have) and I'd spend a little more than $75 on the video card. I'd lay out the green to get either a 9500 Pro or a GF4 Ti 4200 (get an AGP8X). Your system is screaming for a nice GPU. :)

I have that same system, well just about. You will need to spend more on a video card, if you want to let it stretch it's legs in game, etc. I have a Sapphire Radeon 9500 NP which I modded to Pro status and will overclock to hopefully just under 9700 pro specs. For 160.00, if the mod works, it's a great deal. Google gear has the right cards with the correct PCB to do the mod on. Enjoy your new system:)
