When I went from cel300@450 to my PIII-700 I only got an increase at about 10fps in q3, when I bought meself a nice CL Geforce DDR I had an 40-50% increase in q3. So all-in-all:

Cel300@450 -> PIII-700E = 10-15 fps increase 🙂
TNT2Ultra -> Geforce DDR = 50-60 fps increase 😀

Quite nice ehh 😛

This was higest setting with 800x600

Compuwiz1 - I like the other saying aswell. "You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear"

LOL 😀

Sorry Hacksaw, I know it doesn't help but I just had to say it. Bit of advice though. If you frequent these forums more often, there really is some good advice on hardware and you WILL pick up some cool tips.

😉

I believe all the advice and input has been useful. I did install the 4in1 (good or bad) then the new agp 4.03 driver on top of the old. I got a 65% increase just by doing that (55 to 85 fps at 840MHz). Not great but much better. Since I just received this board a couple of days ago, I'm gonna try to return it in exchange for the ABIT VT6X4 Apollo Pro 133A. That's only about 15 bucks more where the Asus is about 40 bucks more. At least it has the 133a. I'll see if that will increase my performance much.

Thanks for everyone's help,
Hack

Hmmm, the VT6X4 doesn't look so hot after all. Just looked at a review over at gamepc.com and it looks like the Asus P3V4X is the board to get. I need to quit being so cheap.

Hacksaw, I have a P3V4X with a Cele II 566 @ 850mhz on it and it is sweet. This is on the wifes gaming machine. I have a P3B-F with a 600e @ 840 for my machine, and the P3V4X runs just as nice.
Get it, you won't be sorry.

Bob
