my new RCA cable modem doesn't like my NIC in win2k

my old 3com modem worked just fine w/ it in win2k but now it won't recognize a pclink (the pclink light won't turn in win2k)
I put in the IP addresses, DNS, and all that other crap in there
win98 recognizes the NIC as a Digital Equipment DEC 21041 Based Adapter and win2k recognizes it as a Intel 21041 Based PCI Adapter

Not sure about your service, but moine (@home) requires that I let the IP's be dynamic. Maybe you need to enable TCP/IP to set automatically.
