I have posted on the graphics card forum recently asking about card changes to the Dell XPS offer. However after phoning up Dell they gave me 2 options: Intel Q6600 Quad, 8800GT with decent everything else for £700, or Intel Q6600 Quad, dual 8800GT with decent everything else for nearer £900.
My price range is £700 max if I have to be sensible. They did not seem like the best deals so I am seriously considering building my PC myself, always try to avoid it but it always comes back to it : )
Id really appreicate peoples opinions on this rig, ive done my research so hopefully its all good!
EVGA GTX260 896MB - £209
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.4) - £137.99
Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB SATA II 7200RPM 16MB Cache - OEM - £46.89
Crucial 2GB DDR2 1066MHz - £45
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R P45 Socket 775 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard - £84
Coolermaster Elite 330 Black Case With CM eXtreme Power 650W PSU - £70
Akasa Intel Socket 478 P4 3.4Ghz Extreme Edition - £10
Extra Value All in 1 Internal Card Reader Plus One USB2.0 Port (Black) - £6
I own a copy of Vista, ive got a keyboard and mouse... DVD drive and a good 20" monitor.
Shipping costs £8... so the total price comes to £616.64
I think thats a much better deal than the Dell, I know what motherboard im getting! and a better 3D card aswell.
Cheers
