<TH7-II is a bad choice. .. likely to receive a board with BIOS 37 ... TH7-II also has some issues...
Grab an ASUS P4T-E if you are insistent on RDRAM.>
The TH711 I will be receiving has the Bios 38. I really don't care about the difference of a few bucks.
<In reality, the DDR offerings are a better choice. I'm also a little surprised you're ordering a 2.2GHz Northwood. Why pay $500 or so when you can grab a 1.6A for <$150 which is all but guaranteed to run at that speed (but faster because of the 133 FSB). You might be able to do 2.6-2.8, but the RDRAM configuration is going to withhold your maximum overclock.>
I've read multiple threads on this board about how the Albeit711 is just as good in every way as the Asus PTE, and even better if one ever plans to overclock it.
I've also read multiple threads on the fact that RAMBUS is a superior choice over DDR for P4's.
Am I wrong; or is this just your personal preference due to cost ?
That said, you do have me thinking about my choice for CPU speed given the price.
I am still unsure why Kingston is a bad choice for Rambus. Is it that it doesn't overclock well ? ????
