My new oil painting almost done. let me know what you think?

Not my kinda thing, but hey, you can tell the effort and I'm sure painting on a canvas of that size offers some unique challenges. Certainly better than anything I could do with a paint brush.

Very nice.

You've got a lot going on - day/night, life/no life, bright/stormy, plains/mountains, and king tut's sarcophagus? in the middle. What does it represent (to you)?

Looks really good. You definitely have a mastery of color and use of space. How much and what brand of oil paint did you use?

Well the left side is cave art, from Spain I think. Mans beginning, first recorded art from man. Man has expressed himself via art from the dawn of time. The earliest we have on record is from cave art.

Then we have man?s death, King Tut?s sarcophagus. The priests of that time felt that this was a journey to the afterlife. They gave the wealthy the tools needed for the journey gold/riches/ sarcophagus. It also has stood the test of time.
Then we have an unknown depiction of what may be afterlife or what may be dreams of the afterlife.
The orbes, represent seeds of life from where life is created, (egg like sometimes.)This is where the trees of life spring into the future and are carried by the winds of time .

So really it is all about Mans Journeys. in life and in death.

This is only my depiction of what the painting represents yours will work just as well as mine has.

I am using winsor & newton oil paints, and some gamblin linseed oil and some thiner.

I spent around $350 on the paints. but have paint left for other projects.
I already had the brushes. The canvas was given to me by narse, but I had to create the wooden frame so I could streach the canvas.

Very insightful, thx. You're very talented, good luck with it.

Cool...how much texture is there that we cant really see? For some reason it looks really flat like its on plain paper or something. Bet it looks great in person.
