My new MSI 52x24x52 wont burn a CD! Please Help!

I can't figure this out.. its pissing me off. I'm using the Nero (shudder) it came packaged with, itll get to like 7% then boom lag. My buffer will start jumping all over the place then it usually dies. Sometimes itll look like its going to finish, but then it dies anyways stating it can't create the end track or something.

I've tried using CDRWIN, but it doesn't recognize the burner, I also tried FireBurner, and it craps out as well. I tried burning at 48x, 24x, and 4x, all do the same thing. This is on 48x Memorex Silver CDs. Anyone have any problems like this? I haven't checked to see if theres a firmware upgrade from MSI yet..

EDIT: Oh yea, this is on Windows 2000 SP3.

yep, try the DMA, works most of the time.

Once, i installed some MS updates and it totally screwed with my burning. It would utlize 100% of the burning software and render my OS crap. I went through all the IDE Controllers and made DMA and still had a problems.

Did you install new updates?
