This is replacing a 15" Sony that died several days ago.. like a screeming rat! It looks like a transformer in it blew, from what I can see. A big black thing, anyway. EEEEEEEEEE!!

Holy smokes! You are going to be squinting like Clint Eastwood by age 25 if you keep that up.

Actually, it's quite comfortable. I would run 1280x960 if it would run at a decent refresh rate, but I can't run it above 60 hz.

:(

I really need to get a 900NF, but I haven't been able to justify it yet. Got bigger & better things to spend my money on (like a Wega).

Well, it works so far! I like that. Time to adjust it.. I hate this part. Am I adjusting it wrong, or is the screen messed a little? I saw some fractured styrofoam, which worries me, but I'm not sure if I did it unpacking.

It could be my eyes too, I was using a Sony 17" Trinitron in the meantime, it's vertically flat but not horizontally..

Edit: I'm thinking that the right side and lower left look like they have less color.. and it's very bright! But, this is the first non-Trinitron I've used in about 7 years. Are these shadow-mask monitors usually brighter, with a little less color definition?

Save the cash for a WEGA, it's worth the money. I was going to wait for progressive scan, but opted instead for composite video and its quite good looking. WEGA is worth the money, just make sure to change the color/brightness settings with a calibration dvd.

Cost me $209 after shipping, with a small pair of speakers (found a couple mail in rebates).

I think I have a $50 MIR for it too. Should work it's from Fry's but doesn't mention a retailer, and it's from Samsung. And a $10 for the speakers too.

hehe, I'm running my 19" IBM P96 FD Trinitron monitor at 1024x768@85hz right now.:) I usually run it at 1280x1024@85hz, but since my laptop has an 14.1" TFT XGA lcd screen I usually don't bother switching the resolution(native XGA resolution), when I have it hooked up to the IBM monitor.

1152x864 on a 15" monitor. Wow, the highest I ever ran my old 17" monitor was 1024x768.:)

I must be going blind ,I used to run my 15" at 800x600,even now with my 19" LG 915FT Flatron 1152x864 at 100hz is good enough for me,no way would I go above 1280x960 max even with a great 2d card like Matrox.

:)
