my new monitor has a slight hiss noise!

has anyone here ever heard a slight hiss sound...lasts maybe 4-5 seconds when first turning on a CRT monitor....it is very faint. I started to hear it when i positioned my monitor differently. Is this normal?? This thing is brand new....wondering whether to exchange it. It is a Viewsonic A90f+ Flat CRT.
 
I can honestly say i have never heard of anything like that. But when in doubt take it back, let someone else deal with it.
 
Yeah, i had an old monitor that did that... well kinda, it only lasted a couple of seconds. I thought it was just the monitor warming up etc. That monitor is still being used today, though by somebody else... around 4-5 years now.
