My new Acer AL1715 arrived... and I like it 🙂 (12ms response, dvi input, crappy bezel speakers)

1 stuck pixel in the upper-left hand corner, not noticable unless the whole screen is a solid color.

Running at 1280x1024 32bit 75Hz, DVI. Had some trouble getting windows to accept the DVI input as default... working fine now, though. I'm used to 1024x 768, though, and this seems a bit big. The bezel speakers suck, of course, no big suprise there. They are great for funny videos at lan parties or such, but not everyday music listening, or a full video.

how can a bigger resolution seem "bigger"....wouldnt everything seem smaller?

you got a dead pixel and you are happy about it?
I have one stuck pixel on my 2001 FP. I NEVER notice it in everyday applications - the only way I even know about it is because I checked out of curiosity when I first got it.

Given the demand for them at the time, I was happy there weren't more.

My Compaq Presario 1500T laptop has one dead pixel in the CENTER of the screen!

Unless I LOOK FOR IT, I barely notice it in every day normal tasks.

bigger as in desktop area

I have a dead pixel in the upper right of my L90D+, and while I don't notice it normally, I often times see it because I look up there to close programs or look at my aim buddy list.

I would have returned it if they didn't sell out so quickly from Compusa

FYI, don't say the refresh rate when talking about LCDs, it makes you sound like a noob

I have TEN dead pixels on my 2001FP:| stuck on different colors all on the upper left corner

I hope I can RMA it...but it really doesn't bother me. I never notice it throughout the day, playing games, wtachin DVD's. They're so small you have to try to see it and only under a black background.

My 2001fp has 1 Dead Red Pixel in the lower center screen and makes high pitch noises. Tried calling Dell, got rerouted 4 times and was onhold for 45mins and gave up.

My first 2001fp had that high pitched noise problem so I returned it. The replacement they sent me still does it, but only when you first turn it on and only for about 10 seconds. I can live with that, but the first one I had did it continuously. The support guy tried to play it off like it was no big deal, but that noise gets to you after a while.

Don't give up. You didn't pay for a defective monitor.

WTF, this is the off topic forum, where I go to get AWAY form arguing about ati/nvidia and dead pixels.

2x Sony HS74P 17" Xbrite LCDs with NO dead pixels 🙂 Absolutely gorgeous...much better than any Dell or Acer or anything else!

I have an Acer AL1912B that i've been running for a few months with zero dead/stuck pixels. 300 bucks, can't beat it.

I just received my AL1715, also one dead pixel in upper left. Seems to be a common thing... Oh well, I still like it 🙂
