I was trying to use the #1 on my tenkey pad and it wasn't working. I was frustrated trying to use the calculator and other number stuff I had to do. I tried everything and couldn't fix it.
I went and bought a new, badass corsair Strafe RGB with silent switches. I plug it in. Play with the lights. I are amaze. I then went to use the tenkey pad. I clicked the #1 with confidence. It didn't work! Tried everything. No dice. Only angers. I spammed the button many times (gently), googled a million things, downloaded keystroke monitoring software and the whole deal.
I was using a keystroke program to monitor the keyboard and I clicked #1 to see if it registered. It didn't, but I wondered why the screen flashed for a second when I hit #1. I hit it again. It flashed again. At that moment I realized what I had done.
*Weeks* ago I had binded #1 on the keypad within Geforce Experience to be a hot key for game recording. I remembered what I had done. I turned it off in GeForce experience. #1 then worked, finally. I then went into my videos folder to see if I had any random recordings. I had 100 gigs of useless desktop recording! About 30 videos of my desktop showing me googling crap and all my shenanigans. It was hilarious.
I'm done. Thanks.
The keyboard is amazing. Absolutely awesome. I have it set to all blue keys and they turn green when you type. BITCHIN!

Good story, moonbogg! It happens to most all of us at one time or another. We're the type that are usually helping others (and then laughing) when they can't figure out what went wrong.

Haha. I've been in similar situations. You got lucky -- you have video evidence. :)

I just picked up the Strafe RGB Silent. Nice keyboard.

Still a YUGE "learning curve" getting used to the mechanical keys after using a cheapo-membrane keyboard for so many years...but still...NICE keyboard.

Just saw this. Grats on the board. I know its just a keyboard, but this is a nice one and I appreciate things like that. Have you customized your colors and key presses?

I just grabbed a few of these.
GAMDIAS GKB3000BL Hermes 7 Color Spectrum Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
http://www.ebay.com/itm/291799629835

Newegg has them on their main site as well, for $89.99, and sold out.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823225009

The ones on ebay, were $44.99 and free shipping.

Edit: The keys are "GAMDIAS blues", apparently not actual Cherry MX Blues, but a clone. Also, not full RGB. But... cheap for a mechanical board. And two reviews at Newegg, with five eggs. Non-removable USB cable. We'll see if that becomes an issue down the road. (It did for my IBM TrackPoint II M-13 keyboards.)

I've probably done worse in the past, I had a GPU I migrated to the main once from one rig and hooked up the cable and bridge and it didn't work in SLI.

I'd forgotten I had just laid the cable in the bottom of the case for awhile and didn't have it plugged in the PSU for a bit, I was trying software things for awhile.

MOST of the time, I have the lighting turned off. What I really want...and can't seem to get...is just backlighting with no fancy effects...so I just leave the lighting turned off. I played around with different color schemes and effects...not really my thing. I'm still considering taking it back and getting a cheapo mechanical from Monoprice.

I would have bet $5 that you were going to end that with "Num Lock is set to be off on boot". Great story, thought!

My fav is the backlit Logitech K 740 illuminated Keyboard. So old school I have two, one unused, to replace this one since I figure they will be out of production soon. Light is simply white, strength is variable, including off.

You can do that with the lighting. You just have to get the settings right. I'd tell you how but I forgot. Maybe when I get home I'll mess with it and let you know.
