Well with the Christmas time approaching I was being nagged as to what I wanted from the parents...eventually I gave in and decided why not start a home theater instead of my 5.1 decent PC system (DTT2500)...

Sooooo I decided they could get me the Onkyo TX-DS595 receiver (there are many reviews out there)

Of course I needed more so I ended up going with Axiom speakers. They're a Canadian company well known for making exceptional speakers, while not spending all their money on marketing so their prices are relitively low. For specs on them go to AxiomAudio.com or AudioShop

For rears: Axiom Audio Millennia M3Ti Se (Pair) - AudioReview.com Reviews - Other reviews: #1, #2, #3, #4
For fronts: Axiom Audio Millennia M50Ti Se (Pair) - AudioReview.com Reviews - Similar model review
For center: Axiom Audio Vocal Point VP100 - AudioReview.com Reviews - Similar model
For subwoofer: Pinnacle Digital Sub 350 - Similar model AudioReview.com Reviews - "Widescreen Review" review

Dorm room. Wahoo.

God I'm so poor now.

Well i'd buy that stuff too.. but then i wouldn't have enough left for anything else :D I'm going to settle with very modest Definitive Technology ProCinema 80 package. One helluva bang for the buck and money left for a good Denon receiver, projector, sat.

Great choice on the receiver, I have last years 575x. As far as speakers. I haven't heard those, but I'm sure the reviews are accurate.

Personally, I like Energy speakers. Check out the 250+ reviews on audioreview.com of the Take 5's :)

Canadian made speakers tend to be good values because their R&D operations are often subsidized by the Canadian government.

I also have the Energy Take 5 system with an Energy subwoofer.
My receiver is a Denon.

The take 5's I got from Ebay.
The sub I ordered from AudioShop (great price, very knowlegeable and curteous).
I got the sub about a year ago and they shipped it to New Jersey within 2 or 3 days.
I have read on other boards that they can't ship to the U.S. anymore. Is this true?

I would definately do business with them in the future if possible.

Nah, I actually ordered the Axiom's via AudioShop and they ship Fedex to the U.S. no problem.

Take 5.2 is highly overrated. The system has a weak subwoofer and midrange. ProCinema 80 is the only microsystem that has good midrange and since i want to also use my system for music, that's what i'm getting.

Well, the take 5's are about $500w/o sub $750 w/ sub, so I'd hope the Pro Cinemas are better.
