OK. Finally got everything ready to order.

The Mobo I just switched today, because I just found out it was in Japan! I was going to get the nForce3 neo2 Platinum, but this new one was the missing link with PCI-E GPU, and a whole slew of extras to boot. I really need your help about anything the new mobo may have warranted a change in!

SEAGATE ST3160827AS (160GB SATAII 7200) (10,970 yen) Barracuda 7200.7 160GB SATAII 7200rpm 8192KB 8.5ms [X2 about $215 US]
-OR-
The same drive 80GB version [X3 for slighty more $]

Athlon 64 3000+ Socket939 BOX 16,280 yen [about $160 US]

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe nForce4 22,450 yen [about $220 US]

NEC ND-3500A BLK 7,444 yen [about $70 US]

LEADTEK WinFast PX6600GT TDH (PCIExp 128MB) 21,729 yen [about $210]

Hynix PC3200 (DDR400) 512MB×2 Dual Set (shop verified)
Basis (seal number): Hynix HYMD264646D8J-D43 AA
Tip/chip: Hynix HY5DU56822DT-D43
(Apparently can run at DDR500 too) 19,500 yen [about $180]
Details at: http://216.239.37.104/translat...mory/hynix32_D512.html
-OR-
The above shop also has Samsung, Crucial, and Kingston for a little more $.
-OR-
TRANSCEND TS64MLD64V4F (DDR PC3200 512MB - CL 2.5) 10,480 yen [X2 about $200 US]

My rational on this setup is that I should be able to play any new game now on high settings with no lag or trouble, at stock speeds. In the future, if I encounter new games and lag, etc., I can just pop in a couple of Ballistix RAM and OC the whole mess. Sound like a plan???

I'm not too worried about the rest:
As for the case- I'll try and pick up something with a 12cm fan front/back and a side fan, and a 400W PSU with over 18A/12V.
Keyboard/mouse- something ergonomic.
Monitor, I already have (22" CRT).

Please keep in mind I live in Japan, so availabily/price is a little different than the states. Generaly, anything not on this site:

or here
http://216.239.37.104/translat...ocworks.com/index.html
may cost more or have to be imported (ie, I couldn't find any Mushkin value RAM).

Let's helping TheNiceGuy! Onegai!!!

somehow save the money or make more and dont get the
LEADTEK WinFast PX6600GT TDH (PCIExp 128MB) 21,729 yen [about $210]

that is kinda weak for a gaming pc considering that gaming is relize alot on your grahics card. you wont be able to run stuff with highest settings or best res and stuff like that. also, get a 6800gt the 6600gt is an ok card and with sli its worse than a 6800gt so i recommend you dont get that card. another thing is if you get the 6800gt pci-e than you can oc to ultra speeds plus get another 6800gt when you want one.

Thanks so much for the replys guys.
woot- the cheapest 6800GT I can find is about $550. And if I go that route, I would need to change my PSU and Case/cooling setup to support future SLI, wouldn't I? And in SLI, the CPU and RAM would be a huge bottleneck, wouldn't they? So I wiould need to upgrade both of those. It all sounds like a tremendous amount of money!

Oh, BTW,
I have to specially request English drivers, etc. Is there anything that needs English stuff? I know the mobo does - anything else?

How about the drives? 2 or 3? If I put the OS only on one drive, and everything else on the other one(s), will this be the fastest setup? Or should the programs be on the OS drive for best speed?
Also, I understand that RAM CL isn't so important on the Winchesters. How much difference in Real Life Gaming?
