My new Game PC keeps resetting

or going back into win98.

This happens whenever Im playing a game after about 10-20 mins, all games.

My motherboard is ASUS cuv4x. pentium 650e, creative labs annihilator 2, sblive, win98se, 128 megs ram.

All drivers are their most current. Directx 7a installed. Checked bios settings.

I'm totally out of ideas, anyone know what
the most likely cause of this problem is, or how to fix it?

Could be several things. Any chance that it might be getting too hot in your case? Are you overclocking your video card or processor?

yes i was.....

but now I am not, to try and solve this problem, I am actually underclocking the graphics card.

The temperature monitor thingie reports my CPU at anywhere from
32 to 43 celsius.

The system is pretty stable in win98, on like Adobe photoshop, premiere etc etc, just on games it is totally unplayable!

What version of drivers are you using with your video card? Does it seem to reset when running D3D or openGL, or with everything?

Have you tried it with the case off (heat can build up around the video card, and may be hotter at that point than your case temp may register)?

detonator 5.22 and 5.30 from nvidia....

I'll try with the case off, then see what happens.
(sparkle ATX 250w power supply btw for info)

I only have direct3d games, but yes it resets or goes into
win98 with all of them.
