This thing is freaking sweet. Kona Blue Limited, 20" chrome wheels and it looks sharp. The myTouch stuff is really crazy. You can basically just talk to the car to do anything. It synched address books, indexed phone music, etc. You can just tell it to play a track by voice and it plays it.

Keyless entry is pretty cool. You just walk up to the car and touch the handle and it unlocks. Auto trunk is really usefull and probably the coolest feature is the power folding rear seat - hit a button and they go down.

Got the vision package which has blind spot sensors, cross traffic and rear obstacle detection. Oh, and rear view camera. Roomy and doesn't really drive like a SUV. The "vista" roof is pretty cool, essentially the entire roof is a moonroof.

Now off to get wheel locks before somebody steels those shiny wheels. Surprised it didn't come with.

congrats! AWD? Were you looking at any other cars besides this one?

I really want a flex.

Wife really wanted a Lexus RX, I'd say this compares nicely for a good amount less money. FWD, fuel economy was her concern which is why we didn't go with the Sport :(

Also Hyundai and Mazda CX-9 (didn't like the way it drove at all surprisingly and feature wise it was no comparison). Nissan Murano as well.

But I got this car for 35 thanks to all the incentives. Tough to beat for the price.

I had one for a week last month. It was a limited AWD model, overall I was very impressed. Not the quickest thing in the world but it sure has a lot of tech. It made me really want a backup camera, I could put that thing into the narrowest of compact spots with no problems. More than once I got out and said "How the hell did I do that?"

Surprisingly fun to drive though, I would like to try the Sport. The only thing that gives me pause is the price tag. They certainly aren't cheap.

When I was looking at new vehicles, I checked out the Edge and Explorer and wasn't that impressed. However, if I had to choose, I would have gone with the Explorer over the Edge. I do like the blue though.

The new explorer is pretty damn sweet as well. Even though I bought the car it was for her. It was hard enough just to steer to the edge instead of a fusion. Taurus was nice but when we hit that price range may as well go edge.

She liked the bells and whistles.

I drove one for a month. It was a solid vehicle with two primary faults:

1. No 3rd row option. At least having the option is good for families.

2. Tacky, cheapamerican styling. CHROME!!! and cheapass door locks (!!), cheap digital readouts, cheap trim pieces randomly throughout the vehicle, and just goadwful american downmarket styling for everything but the outer shell and that panaramic roof that mine didn't have...

For $35k you could have gotten a pretty damn well equipped Highlander and just added an aftermarket in dash multimedia system (there are companies that specialize in Toyota so the parts are an exact fit and match), or if you were determined to buy an american brand, wouldn't a GM lambda have been about the same price (and with comprable mpg+ a 3rd row)?

Dont get me wrong, I don't dislike the Edge, but the Highlander is a better vehicle IMO (3rd row standard, better build quality - simple, but very reliable V6). The Traverse, etc, seems to also be more bang for the buck.

Congrats spidey. While CUV's are not my favorite vehicles, I sat in one of these kitted out at a show and they are quite the techno bubble inside. I drove the last generation as a rental a couple years back...and while it felt a bit sluggish, it also felt like I was driving a tank. I would imagine feeling like my wife and kids were very safe in such a vehicle.

Looks good! Congrats!

I couldn't agree more on the technology Ford is putting in their new vehicles. It is very impressive. I'm probably going to make a Focus Titanium Hatchback my next car. Until then I'm sticking it out with my 8 year old Nissan hoopty for a while longer.

How's the mileage on that thing?

The Highlander looks and drives like a$$. 'nuff said.

Edit: My buddy works (unfortunately) for a Toyota dealership and hates these too. Highlanders drive like a huge Camry...ugg

Let it be known that Jules likes an SUV.:p

I think it's 19/27.
