i watched season 1 about 2 weeks ago. i'm a doctor, and i don't really like any of it that much. unrealistic. we dont' start treatments on crazy hunches like he does, especially ones that kill people. also, not that many treatments kill people like they dramatize so much.
[bones] Dammit dethman, I'm a forum geek, not a doctor!! [/bones].
I'm former Navy with a rating GCM (Guided Cruise Missiles) and a little Nuke training on the side. I try not to let my understanding ruin the shows/movies for my family & friends when it comes to cheezy "Military maneuvers". And, if I get over the technicalities and recognize that tv just ain't gonna do it justice then I'm good; and likely have a chance at enjoying the show.
CSI, L&O, ER, HMD, they're all guilty of extravagent actions and excitement to the very last drop. If they portrayed a real environment it would be boring and wouldn't have viewers.
I don't watch "House" for any sense of realism or glimpse into the unusual illness ward, I watch it for the sarcasm. The lines are very well scripted. A little pushed at times, but I enjoy the banter overall. Then again, some of the shows that rate as my fav's are/were Ed, Mash, West Wing (and I'm a staunch conservative), the old ER, The Red Green Show, Wallace & Grommit, The Antique Road Show and the Golf channel. So, any tv review by me is suspect from the git go
