Ok, so mainly I was wondering I could use something like the spare Zalman fan mate that I have sitting around as the least invasive way to shut it up a little at idle, especially. Any thoughts on that?

Problem 2 - Counter Strike Source Stress test - using the 71.84 WHQL drivers, all the floting mirrors come up "error". I noticed this on a suite mates machine last week but thought that it was because his 5900 was using dx8.1. Any ideas, anyone?

Other than those two things, I am incredibly happy with the card, it has been running 445/1.14 without hiccup over the last two days, I get 12,800 in 3dMark03 and 62 fps doom timedemo demo1 @ 1600*1200 HQ 2xAA. Far Cry with HDR looks cool, even though I am only getting about 35 fps at 1600*1200 w/everything @ very high 😉

That CS:S video stress test displaying error is a CS:S problem. I get that too with my X800 Pro. I don't think it's a big deal as I've played all the way through HL2 with this card and it looked stunning.

That window error thingy is part of Steams update, goooooo steeeeeaaaammmm way to make your customers happy with patches.

That is freakin' retarded that Valve broke their own benchmark. I realize that it isn't really representive of gameply, but usually 100+ frames there indicated solid perfomance in CS:S, which is something that I do care about 🙂 Thanks for the input, I didn't see anything about this posted here before.

I tried taking the card up to 455, artifacts after about 10 minutes. I have taken memory up to 1.16 without issue. I played CS:S for three hours last night, 1400*1050 4xAA 8xAF, butter smooth. Such a difference from my 6800 @ 385/875, it's hard to believe! lol, not to mention my 5900U... 🙂

I didn't say that I was using AA in Far Cry, I enabled HDR. It is pretty obvious when the retena-searing light kicks on. 🙂
