My new Enermax PS is dissapointing me! RMA?

The +12v dips as low as 11.795. I just bought my new ENERMAX EG365P-VE(FC) 350W Power supply from newegg last week. It's the first time I spent this much money on a power supply. Typically have used generic. Frankly I was expecting more from it.

Is it me or is this 12v rail too low for this system.

1 120gig maxtor
1 DVD rom
3 case fans
TI4200 128mb
256 corsair xms (2.6v)

I am running my system at 175 x 10.5. (1.6v)

Should return it and get another PS. I dont want to run into problems if I add another component.

That is within the specs of the PSU. I would check it with a voltmeter either way before you get to uptight about it.

Ok, I thought it would hold closer to 12v. Perhaps my expectations were a little high.

I would expect better results as well. My Truepower 430 rarely is below 11.95 or so on my KT3-Ultra2R. However, when I plug it into my ECS K7S5A it says my voltages are all over the place, even though a multimeter says it is still around 11.95. The point being that if you havent tested your PSU with a multimeter, it may be holding 12V perfectly, just your boards sensor is inaccurate. I don't know how reliable the sensors on your board are. I am sure someone here has experience with them.

Motherboard voltage readings aren't necessarily very accurate, other than as basis of comparison. That's also well within the 5% atx spec tolerance. If it doesn't change much under load, it's no big deal, certainly not cause to return it. That's within 3%, which is what the best high end units guarantee...
