Hi all... long time lurker and learner from this forum so I figured I would post my latest build. I'm still burning it in but will start overclocking it shortly.

I took a lot of pictures and wrote up the whole process on my blog. I would love some feedback! Specifically, I would like to hear what you all would overclock this setup to. I was hoping for a good reliable 3.5GHz... let me know your thoughts.

The e6550 is a tough chip to OC, its 7 multi demands a top quality mobo and RAM. Dont know if the DS3L can hit 500 FSB stably, but good luck.

Really? Several articles I've read used this exact same MB. I mean, granted this is a budget build. Do you think 3.5GHz is unrealistic?

hmm...3.5Ghz is obtainable...but....3.2Ghz is more likely. amenx has the right idea, since the e6550 has a weird multiplier and i havent seen any 500fsb capable DS3Ls....but hey, you could be the first one!

here's anand's take

Yes I agree that motherboard utils look ridiculous. heheh. would be nice to see a professionally designed cpuz/rivatuner type mobo util. Nvidia and ATI driver software is almost equally as crappy. CCC and Nvidia's control panel take longer to initate than a far cry level.

Did you read the newegg reviews on your PSU before you bought it? Like most $26 PSUs, I think this one is a gamble and a mistake. You can get a decent budget PSU for $30-$50 depending on your needs so IMHO its not worth the gamble. I tried to find a professional review of this PSU, but couldn't find one. I'm a little worried about you trying to push an overclock with this.

Other than the PSU, it looks like a good system for OC. I hope it goes well.
