So I'm upgrading. Going from this:
Athlon X2 4200+ OCed to 2.5Ghz
Arctic Freezer Pro 7
Geforce 7800GT
Tagan 480W PSU
1GB DDR RAM
200GB Samsung HDD
EPox 9NPA Ultra Motherboard
LITE ON 16X DVD RW/CDRW
All on Win XP
Now new system which cost me about 1250 bucks in total to upgrade got my parts either from NCIXUS.com or Newegg.com
New case-COOLER MASTER CM-690
PSU-OCZ StealthXStream 600W
HDD- SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB
Mobo- GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS4 Rev. 2.0
Case fans-3 Cooler Master 120mm fans that came with the case + 2 Yate Loon 120mm + 1 Antec Tri-Cool 120mm Blue LED fan + 1 Antec tri-cool 80mm blue led fan. Thats 6 case fan for those who are counting(I have room for 1 more 120mm)
Optical drive-SAMSUNG 20X DVD±R DVD Burner SATA Model SH-S203B(only cuz my old lite on is noisy as hell)
RAM- 4x1 GB of G.Skill DDR2 800 Newegg link for the RAM
CPU- Q6600 2.4 Quad Core
CPU cooling- Tuniq Tower 120
Video Card- EVGA 8800GT Superclocked
OS- Windows Vista 64bit home premium
So far I've gotten the case, the case fans, the tuniq tower, the 8800GT(got for $239 on launch day), and the power supply. Rest of the parts should be in by Tuesday/Wednesday next week. Hope to have it up and running by next weekend.
Here's a few pics of things so far.
Empty case with PSU installed and yate loons on top
Boxes for the tuniq, 8800, and OCZ PSU
Closed case with the monstrous tuniq tower on top
And just about my system, I know it's Vista and blah blah blah but I figure I might as well get it now. I wanted that particular mobo because it's essentially a cut down DQ6. And no offense I dont want to drop 250+ bucks for a mobo. And the 4 gigs of ram is well...needed. Otherwise I wanted a quiet system and all the 120mm fans should help that nicely.
