The memory controller will run in dual-channel regardless of how much RAM the operating system decides it can deal with :). So, yes.

yes...but even if 32bit windows "only" adressess 3.12 GB and BELIEVE ME you want dual channel you NEED two identical sticks. So..either you stick with 2GB (2x1) or get 4 (2x2) ! The Q here then is....get Vista64bit ???!??! This is a question of possible lower performance/compatibility of 64bit Vista BUT full use of the 4gb....or 32bit Vista and have a Gig unused!
