P4 3.0GHz HT - 800 MHz FSB
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
SB Audigy 2 with Firewire (Dell screwed up and they were supposed to only give me a SB Live 5.1)
120 GB Seagate SATA Drive
8x DVD Writer
etc.

I went from playing UT2K4 at fairly low settings at 800x600 at ~20 fps to everything maxed out at 1600x1200 at ~55fps, it looks soo good especially on my new 2001FP LCD!

yay for me!

oh i got office 2k3 finally and outlook is a lot better

I know what you mean -- I was pleasantly surprised at how much snappier Visual C++ 6 was going from P3-933 to P4-3.2 in December.

I'm still waiting for my UT2K4 DVDs :( , supposed to arrive Monday. But at least I'm getting my preorder late, instead of cancelled like a bunch of people here. Oh well, I have Morrowind and NOLF to keep me busy.

Dell = teh suck.

For that $1k, instead of a 3.0GHz, you could have gone for a 2.8GHz and got to 3.5GHz or so :p
That would have saved some of the $$$, and you could have saved elsewhere too, if you checked HD and knew your stuff :p

Dell are fine if you want a basic computer, but if you want to game then build your own - just check Anands review of the Dell system they got.

LOL! I was assuming he already had the software. Owned? Are you 12?

Take into account that he could have gotten a slower P4 and o/c'ed...there are 2.8's that are doing 3.5Ghz @ default voltage and with retail HSF's. Also take into account a motherboard like the Abit is a hell of a lot nicer than a Dell OEM board.

Ok...ok...I missed that. Did he get 2K3 seperate from the Dell, or was it pre-installed?

Edit:

Anyways, I really wasn't trying to get in a ownage fight...just trying to point out that is could be built for similar price. Regardless...nice system Ameesh! :)
