Damiano what prompted such a drastic move??

I see you have a cable modem hooked up there. Is the service expensive?

Why did you move from NY to Chile?

for my work. it is not forever probably 2 or 3 years.
here i make a US salary but live in a country where the cost of living is 5 times lower :)

<sarcasm> They have computer, electricity and apartments in other countries? I thought they all lived in caves </sarcasm>

lol
i work in a NOC with a 100mb national and 2MB international datalinks :p

with cable tv (40 channels (includes HBO and cinemax)) , phone and cable moden with 900 kbps connection comes out to about 80 bucks a month altogether

I love your son's mohawk
thanks, I think he is so cool like this...his granma will probably have a heart attack but oh well

Interesting.

After looking at those pictures, I googled up some info on Santiago. Bigger than I thought. More than 5 million people live in Santiago (over 1/3 of Chile's total population), and Chile is one of the world's most urban countries (more than 85% urban). Apparently Santiago is very dense and crowded as well, with a large skyline.
Must have been a very big move but you sound happy about it. Wouldn't mind visiting someday. Have to brush up on my Spanish though. How is the air quality? They appear to have had some issues with that.

Looks very nice! How much stuff did you bring with you besides your clothing, etc. Did you ship your computer over or what?

yeah suposedly it's not that great in the winter downtown
but i live a bit outside of the city next to the mountains and on the 14th floor
so we are ok
i'll see when the winter comes...it's the end of spring for now and the weather is really great
