350z says: "Hi, I'm super gee golly cool!"
G35 says : "Hi, I passed up BMW for a plastic fantastic!"

BTW, a BMW 330Ci Performance would completely PWN a G35 Coupe in just about every respect!

Performance Package adds the following to a standard 330Ci:

235-horsepower engine
More aggressively tuned sport suspension
8-way power front sport seats with 2-way manual headrests and thigh support;
3-driver memory for exterior mirror and seat positions;
automatic tilt-down of passenger?s side-view mirror when vehicle is shifted into reverse gear
Anthracite interior headliner
Alcantara/cloth upholstery
Aluminum ?black cube? interior trim
M 3-spoke leather-wrapped multi-function sport steering wheels with fingertip cruise, audio and accessory phone3 controls
M Double Spoke (Styling 135M) alloy wheels, 18 x 8.0 front, 18 x 8.5 rear; 225/40R-18 front, 225/35R-18 rear performance tires7,11
High-Gloss shadowline exterior trim
Matte stainless steel, 35mm dual exhaust pipes
Aerodynamic package
Tachometer with 300 rpm-higher redline and red needles
Short, sport gearshift lever

(Also available with a 6-speed manual.)

How would it own it in every aspect? The G35 already has more power, so I pretty much guarentee it would womp the Bimer in the 1/4 or 0-60. As for handling and braking, MotorTrend had nothing but HUGE things to say about it. Plus you can get the G35 with AWD now, or maybe its coming to the next years model. If I wasn't sick today, I'd go find some Slalom data, I bet the G35 holds its own there too.

Plus, when all is said and done I think the G35 would be less expensive.

Its all opinion, but nothing on the road is sexier then the G35 for me, that goes double for the newer Bimer designs which I quite simply can't stand.

EDIT :: OK, I didn't look really hard. But I was right on the 0-60 and 1/4 times. The G35 is quite a bit quicker.

G35
330ci

As people always say, BMW's Inline horses tend to be deceiving. The 330Ci Performance can sprint to 60 MPH in 5.9 seconds (BMW numbers) vs. 6.1 seconds for a 2003 G35 Sport Coupe with a 6-speed MT and 280 HP (R&T numbers).

And the current 330Ci Performance is still built on the classy, beautiful E46 platform. Interior quality of the Bimmer BEATS THE PANTS off of the G35. The BMW retails for around $45K.

Comparing BMW's numbers to one magazine's numbers isn't entirely fair, especially because 6.1 is the worst time I've seen posted for the G (the best being 5.5 - before it got an additional 15 horses). Based on that, the 330i w/ PP (sedan) also beats the coupe. Something I have real-world experience to the contrary. A friend and I have done the drag strip, and his 330iPP keeps up to about 40 thanks to its low gearing and then gets destroyed...and I mean it gets ugly. Now this is the sedan, but the numbers I have seen posted for the sedan and coupe are very close and whatever advantage the coupe would have over the sedan is probably negated by the 15 extra horses in the 2005 coupe.

His car (background) and mine.

Also, the interior quality thing doesn't apply any more - check out the 2005 Gs which have upgraded interiors. Real aluminum trim, no more hard plastics, awesome leather and seats that both beat the crap out of BMW's, 6 disc in-dash mp3/CD player, the list goes on.

face it, g35 coupe perfoms better than e46 3-series, even a bimmer fan admits it. (except the m3)

even with the new e90 magnesium-fied bimmer engines, they're still fairly underpowered. However their handling should still be superb, plus the luxary package should make it be what most people want. g35s shouldn't be outhandled by much though.

How is it that "Everyone has a Z.", yet look at sales figures. Text

The 350Z is the funnest car I've ever driven, and I've driven quite a few I guess.
The 350's interior looked good to me.
I really like the G35 exterior, but like the 350's a little better. However, some of the 350's I've seen with a/m spoilers/kits, wheels, and paint, are some the best looking cars I've seen in my life. There used to a lot of pics on my350z.com but I can't seem to find them now.
